User Stories

‘User stories’ are a benefit/value statement that captures the stakeholder requirements.

For example:

  • In order to derive [x benefit]...
  • As a [user type/persona]…
  • I want [this feature/functionality]…

Capturing these requirements in a stakeholder benefit led approach means that formalised documents do not have to be created, saving time and administrative costs in maintaining them. Furthermore, the intention of creating user stories is to enable a faster response time to changing requirements (real world requirements) as the project progresses.
